Zakia Bourreza is a first year university student and her goal is to learn English. I have been invited into her home, the family are quite religious, but also liberal, she has 3 sisters and one brother, the oler sister has a motorbike, which she rides in traditional colorful dress with a friend on the back....

Marriage is delayed because of needing money -----young men work to save money to afford a wife and family. Don't seem to have any babies without marriage......But lovely families......Hushband, wife plus 1 or 2 small children on a motorbike...quite a familiar sight.

Zakia's home is basically one room --say 14X20--the room has single, narrow beds, sofas-by day a low table in the middle for meals, I did not see but 1 bathroom where family members do all the business--clean themselves, change clothes, etc., etc-----everything is clean. An elderly grandmother laid in a fetal position on one corner sofa near an open window. All homes are behind ancient looking high walls and there is no way of telling from the outside who is poor, who has more, or who might have space of lovely interior gardens and fountains, as the place where I stayed...only after the door opens could you even began to guess what might be on the inside. Rich and poor share to same alley ways.

I stayed near to Palace of the King of Morocco...People express love for the King--adding that he is a good man.The King's Palace.
Love to all, Eloise

Marrakesh

I will board the same cruise ship in Cape Town on October 18....a much more exciting Itenerary, same money and tons of new places to see...the London-Capetown leg of the trip was highly booked ..this is less so easy to change and better for me.......You know me....just add a little zest...I am change on a dime.

I love the food here, will send photos soon....tons of hugs....PS......still too many clothes......I gave some away today....I may come home with nothing, or a whole new wardrobe...E
